![]() Anyway good luck in whatever you decide and remember Judo is about making yourself and better as long as your Judo is better today then yesterday or last year you dont need a rank to show that your on the right path. However, I spent that time training, competing, coaching, etc. I was a nidan for about 15 years before deciding to start advancing in rank again. In many parts of the US, there might be only 2 or 3 seniors in a given weight class. The promotion boards and applications are getting more and stringent because of what you mentioned above. USJF batsugun requires 5 consecutive wins by ippon in a tournament. If that were the case atleast your attendance would have been documented already. ![]() If you were attending a dojo with a higher ranks you could have been promoted in the dojo even though your rank wouldn't have been recognized outside that dojo. Seriously if u have the time in rank if you find a Sensie nidan should be no problem skipping is another issue. Besides the fact that the last time you competed the rules were different. I'm not saying your not physically able to compete but to find and beat 5 nidan by ippon in order to skip rank is a tall order for anyone. Who has thought you since you made shodan? How many camps or clinics have you attended? Jus because you work out to stay in shape doesn't mean your knowledge and skillset has improved. Find Sensie learn Judo and you will be promoted.
